The Deli... History: The Deli was purchased in 1990 or should I say, the wall was knocked down to make it all one big place. When I first purchased the store, Dover House of Pizza was in that unit. There was a fire in September of 1987 that destroyed the end of the building (where the tattoo parlor is now) and Dover House of Pizza never re-opened. First it became "Scarletti's" and when they realized that you actually had to be open to pay the rent they moved out...Then it became Dover House of Pizza again. When the owner of that got tired of making pizza's he decided to turn it into a donut shop. When that didn't pan out he moved out. It stayed empty for a few months and then I decided to try my hand in the Pizza world. The Food: I wanted to offer something a little different in Dover. I am from New York and my parents ran 2 restaurants so I had some knowledge of cooking. Until the day my mom passed she believed in cooking everything by hand. That means no additives or preservatives. I brought that same concept to Smiley's. We try to make everything from scratch and the items that we don't make from scratch we are very fussy about what we purchase. We promise that you will only receive the best food available from Smiley's. Read more about this on our Nutritional Page. What We Serve: We serve a full service breakfast all homemade. You can eat blueberry pancakes, french toast, eggs any way you want them and more. We serve breakfast Mon-Fri 7am-10am and Sat-Sun 8am-11am. We will begin delivering breakfast soon.
